6 of Swords

My card of the day for 30th January is the 6 of Swords which I have drawn from Cilla Conway’s Intuitive Tarot.

I always think that this is quite an uplifting card as the colours are bright and the waters underneath the boat are calm.  The swords are set where the channel narrows and are portrayed as lamps.

At its simplest, the 6 of Swords can be about actual travel; sometimes specifically over water and I feel that this card may well signify a journey to come.  However, it does seem to me that your coming journey may not simply be all about travel in its truest sense; but about making a personal journey that could greatly improve your life.

The figure at the helm is using one pole to drive the boat along which to me may indicate that your journey could be slow and steady rather than immediately life changing.  For example, you could be coming to the end of a period where you may have been financially challenged; or you could feel trapped in a relationship that may have appeared to be going nowhere.  When the 6 of Swords appears, it can usually indicate that you may soon be able to take action to change things.

But the key to this card, in my opinion, is that it may not be enough to just meander along hoping that things will get better; the best rewards most usually come to those who make at least a little effort to change their circumstances.  So, remember to keep a look out for potential opportunities and take full advantage of them.

Today is a day for taking stock of where you are and where you want to be, for considering your true choices and for taking those small first steps to changing your life for the better.
