5 of Discs

My card of the day for 4th February is the 5 of Discs (also known as Coins or Pentacles), which I have drawn from Cilla Conway’s Intuitive Tarot.  Actually, this card ‘jumped’ out of the deck whilst I was shuffling the cards; so desperate was it to be seen.

The interesting thing about this card, for me, are the figures; two people, one in front and one behind who needs a stick for support.  They appear to be moving towards their future and I always imagine that one is moving freely whilst the other may be being held back by a lack of confidence resulting in a need to be supported at all cost.

The 5 of Discs can suggest that you could be feeling that something is be lacking in your life; or that you might be stuck in a deeply co-dependant relationship unable to escape or to move forward with your own life.  Whatever may be causing you to feel this way you could be about to see a way forward; but this card can also be about feeling that you are exactly where you should be, maybe even that you deserve nothing better.  The 5 of Discs can also suggest that you may soon realise that you truly deserve better things; but that is very much in your own hands.  Self-respect and independence often have to be fought for and  it may be that you have yet to realise that you deserve these as much as anyone.

Today is a day to think about where you are and to choose which of the figures you want to be; will you be the cloaked figure striding independently on to a better place or will you be the figure with the staff who appears to need support all the way?

The choices you make now could lead to good things.
